Here are some of the comments left by our guests since September 2008:
- We have based a key part of our Masters in Management programme induction at the Nightingale Centre for the past 4 years and have already booked to come back again next year . We have brought groups of up to 50 students at one time from all over the world and found that the centre has worked closely with us to ensure that everyone is happy. This has ranged from tailoring the menu to suit a host of dietary requirements to providing last minute photocopying facilities to ensuring that students with a particular religious belief have a quiet place to pray . The catering staff do an excellent job at ensuring a wide choice of delicious food options whilst ensuring that a group of 50 people all manage to eat a hot meal within a short space of time. The catering, housekeeping and managing staff are all equally friendly and helpful making it easy to discuss any particular needs that arise.
The centre provides a flexible suite of rooms for both small group discussions and larger lecture style sessions with plenty of space for outdoor team building or sporting activities. Although there is potential for total retreat from the outside world it is also possible to keep in touch with work via internet enabled computers in the centre. In the evening you can either visit the cosy next door pub or turn some of the Nightingale rooms into games or party venues. Needless to say you are surrounded here by beautiful countryside with plenty of opportunities for either walking from the centre or talking a short drive to near by hills, moors or dales. Overall this is a good priced base for running a short residential course that we would be more than happy to recommend to others. Nottingham Business School, The Nottingham Trent University. Oct 09
- The NightingaleCentre in Great Hucklow is really well located for us to run the Nottingham Business School International Masters in Management Induction Programme. It gave our clients a real feel of remoteness set high in the Peak District Dales, yet gave us access to all the resources we need for the activities such as caving, climbing, abseiling and canoeing. On site, the well kept grounds provide ample space for the archery and problem solving tasks that we use on such an event.
Being an International programme, there is a huge diversity of eating requirements and tastes. The kitchen coped well with our needs and the delegates were very well fed. Our staff were too well fed!
Stella and the house team were always available and demonstrated their flexibility when handling all our strange needs.
The whole package helps us to keep our client happy and we are looking forward to a long lasting relationship, returning year after year to the Nightingale Centre with Nottingham Business School and many other clients. Many thanks, Pete March, Director Derwent Pursuits Oct 09

- "We have used the Nightingale Centre for our residential programmes for many
years and have been impressed by the high standard of accommodation and
teaching facilities, provided at a very modest cost. The setting is
perfect and the staff are extremely helpful and considerate. Having used
many residential centres in the north west we have found the Nightingale
Centre by far the best."
